The key differences between this are to do with the details of the medium. Bacon deliberately used unprimed canvas and sometimes arranged 'accidents' that disfigured the work, such as wiping it with a turpentine soaked rag. Such bold gestures could not be undone or 'corrected' on the unprimed canvas and so the work was either transformed or ruined. To say that this is just about the most Baconian work I've seen yet on dA would to be high praise, but I really think this work has succeeded. Wood is a more forgiving medium and the acrylic colours are fresher and less sick looking, which is something I enjoy. I'm really tempted simply to raid your gallery for all the Bacon inspired pieces in it.
